About Judith March Davis

As the only child of Dorothy Rowe and Benjamin F. March, Judith March Davis is uniquely qualified to tell this story. She grew up surrounded by the treasured artifacts brought by her parents from China to America, and she was profoundly influenced by her mother’s Asian philosophy of life. After two years at Oberlin College, Judy earned a BA degree in art history from the University of Michigan. The mother of four children, she lived for 20 years in Traverse City, MI, where she was an award-winning reporter and section editor for the regional daily newspaper and later director of the area Arts Council. Following a move to the east coast in 1980, Judy became a senior staff writer at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, and later director of public relations on the Rutgers-Newark Campus. Following early retirement, she wrote freelance magazine features until 1996, when she moved with her second husband Ethan Davis to Prescott, AZ. Choral singing and lay leadership in Unitarian Universalist congregations have also been central to her life.
